Connecting Notion to Pilea
Connect Notion and Pilea imports pages and documents from your Notion workspace. It’s a one-way import - Pilea reads the pages you share, never writes to or modifies them.
What makes Notion different from other integrations: you decide exactly which pages Pilea can see, right on Notion’s own consent screen.
What you’ll need
- Admin access in Pilea (only admins can change integration settings)
- A Notion account with access to the pages you want to import
How to connect Notion
- In Pilea, go to Integrations in the sidebar under Data Sources.
- Find Notion in the grid and click Connect.
- Click Connect in the dialog. You’ll be redirected to Notion to authorize access.
- On Notion’s consent screen, pick exactly which pages and databases Pilea can see. Anything you don’t select stays invisible to Pilea.
- Once you’re back, you’ll see Connected successfully! and a setup wizard walks you through the initial configuration.
Credentials are encrypted at rest, and you can disconnect anytime.
💡 Tip: Start small - share just your user-research or feedback pages first. You can always grant Pilea access to more pages later through Notion.
Choosing how each page imports
After connecting, open the Notion config dialog and go to Page Selection. Each page gets one of two roles:
- Analyze - The page imports as feedback. Use this for interview notes, research findings, and anything you want Pilea to mine for insights.
- Knowledge - The page imports as a knowledge document. Use this for product docs and reference material that gives Pilea context without being treated as feedback.
ℹ️ Note: Notion connects at the organization level, so all workspaces in your organization can access it - and each workspace configures its own data filters.
Syncing
Notion syncs on its own schedule, per page. Unlike the support integrations (HubSpot, Intercom, Zendesk, which sync every 6 hours), each Notion page updates on its own cadence.
You can also click Sync now on the connected Notion card to trigger a manual sync. Longer syncs run in the background with progress on the card, and Cancel is available if you need it.
If something looks stale, the config dialog’s Advanced tab has Full Re-sync from Start, which re-imports all data from your “Sync from” date without duplicating already processed records.
PII redaction (Settings → PII Redaction) applies to Notion imports too - names, emails, phone numbers, and other sensitive data are automatically redacted from feedback across all sources.
