Introducing Pilea Agents

Pilea now includes autonomous agents – specialised AI teammates that continuously turn raw customer signals into prioritised, actionable product work. In this update, we’re introducing agents and highlighting two core agents you can start with today.

TL;DR

Pilea now includes autonomous agents – specialised AI teammates that continuously turn raw customer signals into prioritised, actionable product work. In this update, we’re introducing agents as a standalone concept and highlighting three core agents you can start with today:

  • Pilea – your orchestrator agent that keeps all your product AI teammates aligned, safe, and working to your strategy.
  • Basil – your feedback & backlog gardener that keeps your product backlog clean, structured, and prioritised.
  • Lily – your release notes and insight writer that turns completed work into clear, user-facing product updates and technical changelogs.

Why we’re introducing Pilea agents

As teams grow, keeping up with customer signals and translating them into the right product decisions becomes a full-time job:

  • Feedback is scattered across Slack, HubSpot, Intercom, Notion, and more.
  • Backlogs drift out of sync with reality.
  • Release communication falls behind what’s actually shipping.

Pilea agents are our answer to this. They act like a lean product ops team in a box:

  • Continuously listening to customer signals
  • Enriching and structuring them
  • Maintaining a prioritised backlog
  • Telling the story of what you’ve shipped

All with clear audit trails and controls, so you stay in charge.

What are Pilea agents?

Pilea agents are specialised AI workers that you configure to own specific parts of your product operations.

Each agent:

  • Runs on a schedule (e.g. daily, weekly) or can be run on demand
  • Connects to your existing tools (Slack, HubSpot, Intercom, Notion, GitHub, and more)
  • Produces concrete artefacts: backlog items, prioritisation updates, insights, and reports
  • Delivers outcomes where your team already works (Slack, email, or inside Pilea)

You decide:

  • The job ("triage customer feedback", "summarise what shipped last week", etc.)
  • The inputs (which feedback sources, which repos, which segments)
  • The outputs (what to create or update, where to send the results)

Think of them as always-on teammates that handle the repetitive research and triage work — so humans can focus on strategy and product decisions.

Outcomes you can expect

Pilea agents are designed to improve how your team works, not just to add more automation.

1. Less time on triage, more time on strategy

  • 50–80% less time spent manually tagging, merging, and grooming feedback
  • Backlog that reflects reality, without needing heroic cleanup sessions

2. Higher confidence in what to ship next

  • A single, prioritised view of bugs, feature requests, and improvements
  • Priority scores updated continuously as new signals come in

3. Faster response to customer pain

  • Critical issues surfaced quickly, with which customers and segments are affected
  • Clear linkage between feedback, revenue, and implementation status

4. Better shared understanding

  • Product, CS, and Engineering working from the same source of truth
  • Regular, readable summaries instead of scattered screenshots and links

Meet Pilea – always there to help

Pilea is you main boss!

Pilea is the main agent that helps teams manage their workspace (from creating companies, feedback, tagging, and more) to writing general updates (feedback summaries and daily bug digests), as well as helping you create agents and skills throughout the application.

Pilea is the agent that sits at the centre of your product operations, making sure all your other agents – and your workflows – stay aligned with your strategy.

What Pilea does

  • Manage your Pilea workspace
    • Creates and updates customers, backlog items, and feedback so your data stays structured
    • Helps tag, merge, and link feedback and backlog items so you keep a consistent taxonomy
  • Keep you in control
    • Surfaces what agents are doing in plain language, with clear audit trails
    • Makes it easy to adjust how assertive agents should be – from suggestions-only to more hands-on operations
  • Align work to strategy
    • Helps ensure the outcomes your agents drive (backlog changes, insights, communications) reflect your product goals and target customers

Meet Basil – your feedback & backlog gardener

Basil is the backlog manager who never sleeps!

Basil is the agent that keeps your feedback and backlog tidy, connected, and decision-ready.

What Basil does

  • Triage incoming feedback
    • Classifies each item as bug, feature request, or improvement
    • Links related feedback together so you see clusters, not isolated comments
    • Connects feedback to the right customer and account context
  • Create and maintain backlog items
    • Proposes new backlog items when there’s enough signal and context
    • Updates existing items as new mentions come in, keeping problem statements up-to-date
    • Helps avoid duplicates and stale tickets that no longer reflect the real issue
  • Apply your priority framework
    • Uses your chosen prioritisation model (Pilea composite, RICE, WSJF, ICE)
    • Continuously re-scores items as new feedback arrives
    • Surfaces the true "top of the stack" work based on impact, volume, and recency

Outcomes with Basil

With Basil enabled, you get:

  • A backlog that mirrors actual customer pain and commercial impact
  • Continuous triage instead of quarterly backlog clean-up days
  • Higher signal-to-noise when deciding what to pick up next

Meet Lily – your release notes & insight writer

Lily makes sure you keep your customers up to date with new releases!

Lily is the agent that turns completed work into clear, customer-facing narratives.

What Lily does

  • Understand what shipped
    • Reads merged PRs from GitHub
    • Looks at completed backlog items in Pilea
    • Filters out non-user-facing changes so you focus on what customers feel
  • Draft product updates and changelogs
    • Groups work into Features, Fixes, and Improvements
    • Writes product updates in Pilea’s tone of voice
    • Generates more technical changelog entries for engineers and power users
  • Help you close the loop
    • Makes it easy to tell customers which of their requests have been shipped
    • Gives CS and Sales a clean narrative: what changed, for whom, and why it matters

Outcomes with Lily

With Lily enabled, you get:

  • Consistent release communication without extra overhead
  • Clear stories around value and customer impact
  • Faster proof of progress to stakeholders and customers

How Pilea, Basil, and Lily work together

Pilea, Basil, and Lily are even more powerful when used together:

  1. Pilea orchestrates your agents so they work from the same strategy, context, and guardrails.
  2. Basil turns raw customer noise into a structured, prioritised backlog.
  3. Your team ships the highest-impact work first.
  4. Lily looks at what’s completed and translates it into a clear story for customers and internal teams.
  5. New feedback on those releases flows back into Basil’s triage, closing the loop – all under Pilea’s orchestration.

The result is an end-to-end signal → backlog → ship → communicate → learn cycle with a lot less manual effort and much stronger alignment.

What’s next

We’re already working on:

  • More preconfigured agent templates for common product workflows
  • Finer-grained controls over how assertive agents should be (from suggestions-only to more hands-on operations)
  • Deeper integration with your existing tools to reduce copy/paste and manual admin even further

We’d love your feedback

As always, we’d love to hear how agents fit into your workflow:

  • Which parts of your product operations feel the most repetitive today?
  • What would you like an agent to take off your plate next?

Just reply to this update or reach out to us in your usual channel – we read everything and use it to shape what we build.
